The Benefits of Emergency Dentistry

Pain Relief

Let’s be honest, dental emergencies often come hand-in-hand with excruciating pain. Emergency dentists are equipped to diagnose the source of the discomfort and provide immediate pain relief solutions, helping you get back to feeling your best.

Preventing Infection

Dental emergencies often involve openings in the gum tissue or exposed tooth roots, creating a breeding ground for bacteria. Left untreated, these infections can spread throughout the body, leading to serious health complications. Emergency dentists can provide antibiotics and other treatments to prevent infections from escalating.

Peace of Mind

There’s nothing quite like the gnawing worry of an unresolved dental issue. Emergency dentists can diagnose the problem, provide treatment options, and offer expert advice, giving you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your oral health is in good hand.

Teeth Cleanings

Gum disease is a widespread problem affecting half of all adults over the age of 30. It can exist without your knowledge, but all the while, it is damaging your oral health. Routine hygiene appointments are crucial because we can find and treat gum disease early on, and long before it threatens your oral health.

Routine cleaning appointments every six months are recommended if your oral health is good and you have no history of dental issues. If your dental history is more complex, our hygienists may suggest more frequent visits to maintain optimal oral health.

Dental Exams

Our dentist recommends dental exams every six months because they help us to stay up-to-date with your oral health. During these appointments, we carefully check each tooth for signs of decay and look for evidence of gum disease.

We want you to feel fully informed and confident about the treatment we recommend, so we use technology like digital x-rays and intraoral cameras. They not only help us diagnose dental conditions, but they also let you see what we see and better understand the need for treatment.

If we find that you need treatment to get your oral health back up to par, we will work with you to develop an individualized plan to ensure that we meet all your needs.

Why we are the best? FAQ’s

The journey of a thousand (S)miles begins with one step!

How do I schedule an appointment?

Call our office a (02) 8710 1706 or book online through our website.

What information do I need to bring to my first appointment?

Your insurance card, medical history, and any relevant dental records.

What is gum disease (periodontitis)?

Gum disease, or periodontal disease, is an infection of the tissues supporting your teeth. It begins with plaque, a sticky film of bacteria that forms on your teeth. If not removed by regular brushing and flossing, plaque hardens into tartar. Only a dental professional can thoroughly and safely remove tartar.

What are dental implants?

A dental implant is a tiny, titanium post that replaces the entirety of a tooth, from the root that lies below the gumline to the visible portion of the tooth called the ‘crown’. Your dentist surgically inserts the implant into the jawbone, which provides a stable, permanent foundation for a prosthetic dental crown, bridge or denture.

Do dental implants hurt?

We understand that the thought of dental implants can raise concerns about pain and discomfort. Our goal is to provide you with a smooth and comfortable experience from start to finish. Here’s what you need to know about the dental implant process and what you can expect regarding pain and discomfort.
